Q: How long should the private lesson time be?
A: beginner- a weekly ½ hour lesson/intermediate-a weekly 45 minute lesson/advanced-a weekly 1hour lesson
Q: What are the Academy hours of operation?
A: Monday – Friday, 2:30-9:00 p.m.
Q: Can I drop off my payments at the Academy office?
A: The Academy office is in the director’s home, so all payments are to be placed in an envelope, Lucas Academy written on it and then dropped through the Grace Church front door mail slot, which is to the right of the church front door.
Q: Do you have music recitals?
A: Yes, twice during the school year -- in December and June. The art students also display their art projects at the recitals.
Q: Can we have lessons every two weeks?
A: No, only weekly lessons, or two lessons per week every week.
Q: Can we register any time during the school year?
A: Yes. Students may register for lessons throughout the school year. (The only exception: Hip Hop dance has 2 cut off dates: the second week in October and the first week in February.)
Q: Do we register through to June?
A: Yes.
Q: Can we withdraw at any point during the school year?
A: There is a one month’s cancellation policy.
Q: Do you offer summer lessons?
A: Yes, they are held in the instructor’s home studio or in the student’s home. Because families go away during the summer, you may register for only the number of lessons you wish. This arrangement is for the summer only. Lessons September – June are held at Grace Church, 2087 McMillan Road, Abbotsford.
Q: What is music therapy?
A: It is the therapeutic use of music which aids in fulfilling the specific goals or needs of special needs individuals. The sessions are designed for each client’s specific needs. The music therapist is able to work together with the client’s other therapists goals, in an effort to provide the best outcome for the individual.
